The goal of CitySDK for the tourism area was to develop an API that could be used across cities to provide data in an uniform manner. This allows developers to write an App for one city and have it work in many cities. Development costs are lowered and the potential market increases.
But the project also intended to reduce the costs Municipalities face when joining the Open Data movement. For this purpose we provide a reference implementation server, which fully implements the Tourism API. All cities have to do is publish their data into the server and it will take care of implementing the API functionality. The server is written in C# and has been successfully installed under Windows or GNU/Linux.
